This season’s weather has caused inconsistencies in the dry matter ratio of silages leaving many farms with very dry or wet silage. These have high acidic loading which put the cows at a higher risk of acidosis. This means farmers are having to mix feeds to deliver the right physical ration and nutrient balance.
